Yesterday I covered the back rest as, despite a couple of cable ties, the foam kept slipping.
Then I made and fitted a new belly pan, the old one was scraped pretty bad and I am just glad that it wasn't my seat (arse!).
I also had to reset the inner-tube in the front tyre as the valve had disappeared inside, annoying but the tyre was pretty flat.
Now the buggy is ready for a run out - just need the weather to co-operate!

Inactivity...
It's been over a month since I have been out in the buggy because of my holiday and then being ill (full blown flu!) and I am still having hot flushes. Consequently I have been quiet on the blog front as well...
Well the forecast is looking promising for Sunday morning with increasing south-westerlies...

The buggy has it's new tyres and they are all holding air, it will be interesting to see how they perform as they have more tread than standard barrows...
...but should be harder wearing.
My new wide axle is en-route from Adelaide but I don't think I will have it until next week.
I am feeling stronger and fitter each day and today, for the first time in over a week, feel that I have some energy - but do have a persistent and annoying cough!
I will check the go-pro is charged, the kites etc. are packed and I will be down on the salt-lake early Sunday morning.

Sorted!
Took my hub and new tyre to Tyrepower on my way home from work yesterday and in less than 3 minutes they had it inflated and sat on the rim - sorted!
Ready for when I return from my holidays.

Two wheels on my wagon...
I started to replace my tyres today...
The front one was first and was sorted quickly...
The new tyres are 6 ply, highway rated trailer tyres and took a bit more work to get over the rims. But after sitting them in the sun and some washing up liquid they both went over the rims pretty easily - well much easier than I anticipated!

The first one I tried inflating and popped over the beading with my 12v air-compressor, to easy! The second just wouldn't grip and inflate. Despite trying the air-compressor at the servo, using a ratchet strap to hold the tyre tightly onto the rim and liberal amounts of washing up liquid.

Tyre trouble - pit-stop...
I can see canvas!
Before I started off last Sunday, when I was attaching the rear axle to the bug I noticed I could see the canvas starting to show through on my left rear tyre.
After a couple of hours of buggying and maybe a little bit of going sideways, it was really showing...
Thankfully this tyre has a tube, but I was worried a bit about it shredding. So an impromptu pit-stop in the middle of the salt-lake and Bones and I swapped it with the front, which is worn but nowhere near as much. Should last me a few more k's but I am hoping I have so Christmas money left to get some new tyres!
