Backrest - part..?
I've lost count at how many variations I have tried, this one is completely new and sitting in the buggy in the garage is very comfortable!

An unexpected skill...
I went shopping at a place I would normally avoid, bought a few items and then got out a machine I wouldn't usually touch and ended up (after a few issues and with some unexpected and sometimes unwanted help!) producing something I was very pleased with...
My first edge was a bit of a disaster, not sure I had the machine set up right...
Then got a bit better, wasn't entirely straight but it does the job...
then I got some unexpected and not particularly wanted help...
I managed to get all four edges hemmed (I even speaka da lingo!)
then started to attach the two strips of velcro...
Some more help, or just quality control..?

Padding...
I have replaced the padding on my back rest as the old pool noodle wasn't really working anymore. After some advice from Extreme Kites I opted for some pipe insulation foam. I have used a couple of layers and some duct tape. Just need my wife to make a new cover for it.
Much more comfortable.

Buggy Love...
As part of my ongoing buggy maintenance programme, Sunday, I replaced the padding on my back rest. As the old stuff had worn a bit thin...
The padding is made from a swimming pool noodle (thanks kids!), I also adjusted the back rest position slightly...
And repositioned my trusty kite ground stake on the rail...
This week my new bearings should arrive and I will install and grease them. The new front tyre is on - so the buggy will be as good as new, ready for the spring weather to sort itself out!

Sewing...
Not me, but hopefully my wife - to make a cover for the back rest similar to those on the side frames.
While it was in the boot of the car with the axle on top it got a couple of holes in the duct tape, nothing major but I don't want to have to keep patching!

Extended side-frames and back rest
In an effort to improve the stability of my Peter Lynn Comp XR+ kite buggy I am after some of the heavy duty extended side-frames, I know I can get these new but does anybody have a set they don't use?
I am probably going to get some as a birthday present! The other option is if anybody can fabricate a frame extension to join the side frame to the axle?
The other thing I want to do is make a back rest, for comfort and I reckon it would also stiffen the frame - I know Popeye the Welder can do this but I don't have the skills! I think I will take a trip to Masters or Bunnings to see what I can botch!
