6 ply...

After waiting nearly a month for a new front tyre to arrive from 1powersports it has finally arrived! This was all down to Australia Post losing it...

It's a 6 ply highway rated tyre - the same as I have on the back and will replace the worn out barrow on the front and the knackered front tube...

Valve put on, tyre on rim but couldn't get it to inflate so a quick visit to a local independent tyre place and in two seconds it was seated and inflated!

Bloody Tyres!

Came home to find the valve from my front tyre (which has an inner tube) on the floor of the garage...

It had completely come away from the tube, so have a complete flat and no way of inflating it...

I have a new tyre en-route, it was dispatched on the 14th August and thanks to Australia Post still hasn't arrived! Two phone calls last week and hopefully it will be here before the weekend.

Canvas...

The last of my original barrow tyres is now showing canvas. This is on the front wheel of the buggy.

I have a new tyre on order (a Father's Day present) that should arrive this week - another 6 ply highway rated tyre.

Something new...

Fathers day is approaching (1st September) and of course I am already planning ahead.

I need a new front tyre for the buggy...
I'm also after a head strap for my GoPro as we are planning on visiting Otway Fly Tree Top Adventure in January...

How did that happen?

I found the cause of my flat yesterday...

It had split right by the valve. New tube now in, ready for some wind...

If anybody is listening?

Bloody hell!

I'm on lake walyungup, as I write this, dragging a crippled buggy back to the car.

I had avoided the showers, the wind was looking promising then - pop, hiss! The front tyre has completely deflated! Thankfully I was only doing about 30kph.

This is still the original PL barrow tyre with an inner tube, so should be a quick fix!

Are you speeding?

We went down to Bunbury yesterday for the day (labour Day in Western Australia), which is about an hour or so from home.

We had a good time walked on the beach, did a couple of geocaches. Then discovered the car had a flat!

No hassle changing it and putting on the spare - the biggest hassle was the spare is a space-saver with a maximum speed of 80kph.

So driving home was interesting as the highway has a speed limit of 110kph and there was us cruising a long at a very sedentary 80kph - I did receive a couple of rude gestures! And what is it with big 4WD towing motorbikes and quads that think they can pull out and overtake at the very last minute? There were a couple of times I thought somebody was going to go into the back of us!

I did pass at least two fixed speed cameras (double demerits in WA over a public holiday weekend), with little signs up after you have passed them asking "Are you speeding?".

The journey home took just over an hour and a half  - but I think I saved some fuel!
