First day of winter...

and a public holiday (WA day or foundation day) so I went buggying this morning...

The forecast was good but the wind came a lot later than forecast and wasn't quite as strong, but I had some really good runs, once I had navigated my way down the lake, and according to Endomondo even got a new personal best of 62.9 kph...

Losing it...

I haven't been buggying or boarding for a few weeks, but I haven't been sat on my butt!

Using my fitbit and endomondo I have spent the last three weeks training and losing weight. Aiming for 15000 steps a day and burning 3000 calories. I have been running twice a week and even bought myself some decent runners...

And after three weeks I have dropped from 78 kgs to 75 kgs, I would still like to lose one more!

We are now into spring so I am hoping the lake starts to dry out a bit, though we do have more rain forecast for the weekend and the beginning of next week. I am looking forwards to getting back in the buggy.

Tyre pressures...

I was playing around with the tyre pressures on my mountainboard, went out with them rock solid and after the first couple of runs which felt a bit twitchy, let them down a bit and got a much smoother ride.

The end result was a new top speed of 33.1kph!

Losing it...!

I hit a new low yesterday...

74.10 kgs - seeing as my original goal was 76 kgs I am doing very well.

I also got five new PB's at running...
  • a fastest 1 km - 5m:27s
  • my fastest mile - 9m:11s
  • a fastest 3 miles - 29m:48s
  • a fastest 5 km - 31m:07s
  • Cooper (12mins) - 2050m (2.05km)

All while my daughter was at dance in Port Kennedy-

You can track my workouts in Endomondo sports tracker feel free to add me as a friend! Hopefully the new kite will arrive in the next day or two and I will be able to get some workouts with that...

Comparisons...

A week ago I got a new PB of 62.7kph (on the GPSr) but Endomondo showed a top speed of 64.4kph...

I know the official PB is the GPSr, but the max speed often sticks on my Etrex and doesn't update unless I reset it. And typically Endomondo has always recorded a couple of k's below my GPSr.

On Good Friday I had another nicely powered up session, I nearly equaled by PB according to the GPSr - but Endomondo again recorded by max speed 2kph below my GPSr!

Officially my PB is 62.7kph, but I think unofficially it's more like 65-66kph. But look at my moving average - 30.8kph - now that is officially a PB!

Mojo!

I spent the weekend getting my buggying mojo back!

After a long winter of very little buggying and then a recent OBE, for the first time this weekend I felt I was back in the zone and able to start pushing a bit harder. Using the 3m Peter Lynn Core I was able to start kicking the buggy around a bit more and sliding harder and faster.

Saturday was great, after a couple of hours and my first attempt at the 1 hour challenge I was joined by my wife and kids...

and my wife got a couple of piccies of me...

I also had some help getting the buggy back to the car park...

Then Sunday brought stronger, gustier winds, a couple of times started to feel my backside leaving the seat! But persevered and kept on pushing through the gusts and gaining in confidence in the kite, the buggy and my abilities! Got a season best!
well off my PB but feel that I have got the buggy mojo back!

Due to operator error (and I checked twice!) I didn't start endomondo on Sunday, so no track and no entry to the 1 hour challenge. Had to give up after a couple of hours because of a sore back, not sure if it's buggying two days in a row, the PL seat or my age!

Another laid back Sunday session...

Low winds made for a cruisey Sunday morning session, the 5m Flow took a lot of work to keep me moving and I spent more time un-hooked than hooked in (and can feel it this morning!).

A good crowd on the salt lake (there were three buggys and one kite board) made for a great session - spent some time chasing Alpha75 with his 15m Matrix. Also met tinman who was on his first visit to the lake, I'm sure he will be back.

Can't wait until next weekend and do it all again...

Sunday's Session...

I remembered to turn on the Endomondo sports tracker while I was out in the buggy on Sunday morning. Easterlies meant I could use a good length of the salt lake and rode some of the way back towards the car park...
