Evolve Electric mountainboards and skateboards...

I think I know what I want for Christmas...

I was talking to a guy at work today who has one of these, huge range, awesome top speed and maneuverability!

"Dear Santa,

I have been a good boy this year..."

Buggying...

After a long winter break the weather is finally spring like and it is looking hopeful that I might get out with the kites, buggy and board at the weekend...

I will still need to fit a weekend run as well!

iSmoothRun...

Bought a new app today to help improve my running. I was after something which help set your pace, as I have a tendency to go out too hard and fast!

So after reading many reviews opted for iSmoothRun...

Went for a 5k run after work and got a new PB and my pace was much more consistent and ran most of it!

Not sure how much was the app and how much is my fitness level!

It's warming up, so maybe back in the buggy and board soon...!

Langford Park - mountainboarding

I tried out some of the mountain-bike trails at Langford Park, it wasn't quite as good as I was hoping - I needed longer and steeper. But I had a good morning...

GoPro wrist mount...

From this...

To this...

I decided to use a Velcro strap we had lying around at home and Using the mounting plate in the GoPro box to make my own GoPro wrist mount.

I started by cutting the plastic mounting plate down and drilling four holes for cable ties...

Some sanding to tidy it up and get rid of any burrs, then threaded the cable ties through.

I used some double sided padded tape to cushion the back and then secured it to the strap with the cable ties...

It can be used with the flat and angled brackets...

The only issue maybe the strap is a bit big for my skinny wrists! Should be able to try it out tomorrow.

Tyre pressures...

I was playing around with the tyre pressures on my mountainboard, went out with them rock solid and after the first couple of runs which felt a bit twitchy, let them down a bit and got a much smoother ride.

The end result was a new top speed of 33.1kph!

boarding...

I went mountainboarding this arvo, as we drove past Lake Walyungup this morning and large parts of it are underwater!

I did 6.26kms with a new top speed of 30kph, used my new 3-way mount to shoot some video. Was going to try out the chesty but left it at home.

Some screen shots as I can't post the movie on vimeo until Wednesday!

Winter...

The 1st of July and the first day of winter, only three months until spring!

The wind forecast for the week is pretty rubbish, looks like more free-ride mountainboarding and the kites staying in the garage (I guess it can always change)...

Lake Walyungup...

Muffin, the dog!
Walking the dog on lake Walyungup, the wind is blowing and wishing I had the buggy with me!

A good opportunity to check the surface after the recent rain. It's pretty soggy and soft in places. There is a fair bit of standing water on the approach to the recreational area. The main recreational is still pretty firm with no puddles.
